Criminal Law: Man Charged w/ Possession & Receipt of Child Pornography

Yancy Craft – AKA “Travis Mobley” – 41, a licensed pediatrician, was taken into custody by FBI agents in Columbus, Georgia on Thursday, December 1, 2011. Craft is being charged in federal court with possession and receipt of child pornography. Craft recently began practicing medicine in Columbus, Georgia. Before that, Craft was a practicing pediatrician in Memphis, Tennessee where investigation of him initially began.
In Tennessee, Craft was first identified by an undercover agent on the internet for his possession of child pornography. The FBI has been forced to move the probe to Georgia, since Craft now falls under their jurisdiction. Craft was released Thursday, December 1, 2011 in the afternoon on a recognizance bond. However, a U.S. Magistrate Judge placed strict conditions that Craft must abide by during his release. He mus wear an electronic monitoring bracelet, not possess a firearm, reframe from having any unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18, and be subject to home confinement from 6pm to 6am.
